PARIS, IL — Ingrid “Sue” Huxford, 61, of Paris, left this world to get her angel wings and to be with her Savior at 10:20 a.m. EST Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in the emergency room of Union Hospital, in Terre Haute, Ind. She was born Ingrid Sue Coverstone on Oct. 11, 1951.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, James M. Huxford Sr.; six exceptional children, Trina (Roger) McDonald of Terre Haute, Tamara (Brock) Black of Sullivan, Ind., James (Tammy) Huxford Jr. of Paris, Jarrod DeVilIez of Terre Haute, Joe DeVilIez of Anniston, Ala., and Shane (Robert) Huxford-Wayne of Louisville, Ky.; and was known as “Grandma Sue” to her adoring 11 grandchildren, Aeysha, Ashley, Austin, Brandon, Brianna, Bricent, Carly, Eli, Jaydin, Marissa, and Xavier. She also had three great-grandchildren. Grant, Mason, and Payton. She also is survived by her parents, William and Jean (Coverstone) Hewitt; and her sister, Pamela (George) Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Hewitt Jr.

Sue was a homemaker, and taking care of her children was her world. She spent time as a lunchroom aide at Mayo Middle School during the 1990s, She helped many children who needed someone to talk, listen, or go to when they were in trouble or just needed a “grandma.”

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, we continue Grandma Sue’s mission of charitable giving to many children’s organizations. St. Jude Children’s Hospital Research Foundation was a major part of Sue’s life. Memorials may be made in her name at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P,0. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.

Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, in Paris. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
