She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, James M. Huxford Sr.; six exceptional children, Trina (Roger) McDonald of Terre Haute, Tamara (Brock) Black of Sullivan, Ind., James (Tammy) Huxford Jr. of Paris, Jarrod DeVilIez of Terre Haute, Joe DeVilIez of Anniston, Ala., and Shane (Robert) Huxford-Wayne of Louisville, Ky.; and was known as “Grandma Sue” to her adoring 11 grandchildren, Aeysha, Ashley, Austin, Brandon, Brianna, Bricent, Carly, Eli, Jaydin, Marissa, and Xavier. Sue was a homemaker, and taking care of her children was her world. She spent time as a lunchroom aide at Mayo Middle School during the 1990s, She helped many children who needed someone to talk, listen, or go to when they were in trouble or just needed a “grandma.”

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, we continue Grandma Sue’s mission of charitable giving to many children’s organizations. St. Jude Children’s Hospital Research Foundation was a major part of Sue’s life. Memorials may be made in her name at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P,0. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.

Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, in Paris. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
