Rebecca E. Brossman

TERRE HAUTE — Rebecca Ellen Brossman, 61, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. She was born on Feb. 1, 1951, in Greencastle, to Howard Pete Walters and Sarah Florine (Richard) (Walters) Dixon. She married Charles Brossman on March 24, 1978, and they spent 34 wonderful years together and raised two children.

Becky was a 1969 graduate of Russellville High School. She worked at Terre Haute Regional Hospital for 41 years, most recently in case management. She was an active member of St. Mark United Church of Christ. She attended Emmaus Walk #102. Becky enjoyed reading, going for walks and playing with her grandchildren. She was proud to be a breast cancer survivor. Becky will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a delightful sense of humor. She was caring and hard-working, both qualities she instilled in her family.

Becky is survived by her husband of over 34 years, Charles; their children, Amy Swan and her husband Ted of Terre Haute, and Bryan Brossman and his wife Stephanie of Windsor, Colo.; grandchildren, Colton Swan, Kaley Brossman, and baby Swan on the way; sisters, Anita Sharp and her husband Randy of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mary Catherine Anderson and her husband Eric of Shelbyville; a brother, Terry Walters and his wife Jane of Brazil; special friends, Conrad and Elsie Gemmecke and Larry and Dixie Swan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Emily Ann Walters; stepfather, Sydney Dixon; and her mother-in-law, Viola K. Brossman.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Teresa Higus officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to St. Mark United Church of Christ. Online condolences may be made at:
