Debra Jane Leigh Shepard

TERRE HAUTE — Debra Jane Leigh Shepard, 54, of West Terre Haute, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, in Union Hospital emergency room of natural causes. She was a home health aide with Nurse Care in Terre Haute. She was born July 12, 1958, in Terre Haute, to Robert Leigh and Doris Talley Leigh.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd A. Shepard Sr.; two sons, Floyd A. Shepard Jr. and his wife Kimberly and Craig A. Shepard and his companion Lacey Lynn Krise, all of West Terre Haute; two sisters, Dottie Certain and her husband Harold of West Terre Haute, and Donna Shaw of Hanford, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Sherry Leigh of Marshall, Ill.; four grandchildren, Shyann Stanford, Landis Shepard, Aleise Shepard, and Dixie Shepard; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Bill Shaw.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Debra’s funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North Third St., in West Terre Haute. Cremation has been scheduled after services. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. The family kindly suggests that if friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Debra Shepard Memorial Fund with envelopes available in the funeral home to assist with expenses.
