MARSHALL, Ill. — Lelia B. Talley, 88, of Marshall, passed away 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. She was born Aug. 31, 1925, at Paris, Ill., the daughter of Benjamin Harrison Waymire and Mary Combs Waymire. She was retired from Western Union.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin Talley and her companion Randy Nicholson of Marshall and Mary Talley Brown and her husband Les of Palm Coast, Fla.; two grandchildren, Mark Denny and his wife Jenny and Stacie Denny Girard and her boyfriend Matt Beck; and a great-grandchild, Kalia Belle Girard, and one of the way, a baby boy, Liam Beck.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Waymire, Benjamin Waymire, and Lester Waymire; and one half sister, Sarah Waymire Combs
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Paris, the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975, and Burnsides Community Health Care Center Residents Council. She loved to fly, enjoyed birds and animals, and enjoyed helping others. She had been active with the Marshall Food and Clothing Bank and was a graduate of Paris High School.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. CDT today, Sept. 9, 2013, at Shaw Chapel of Burnsides Community Health Care Center. Burial will be at a later date in Marshall Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 9 a.m. today at the chapel. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Food and Clothing Bank.
