TERRE HAUTE — Mary Margaret Lower Hough, 71, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, in Union Hospital. Mary was born in Mulberry Grove, Ill., on Dec. 25, 1941, to Lawrence Lower and Mary Elizabeth Callahan Lower. Mary was a homemaker as well as a school bus driver for the Vigo County School Corporation for many years. She had also worked for the Meis Stores in gift wrapping. Mary was a lifelong member of the former St. Ann Catholic Church, where she was a member of the mother’s club, various Bible study groups and was Eucharistic Minister. She attended St. Ann School from grades 3 through 8 and graduated from Schulte High School. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; as well as her husband, Harry Hough who died “"Jack” Lower; and two brothers-in-law, Bobby Hough and Mannie Hough.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Hough and wife Shelly of Wabash, and Tim Hough and wife Dianna of Terre Haute; two daughters, Kim Coffey of Terre Haute and Amy Soza and husband John of Morton, Ill.; one brother, Bill Lower of Terre Haute; one sister-in-law, Grace Cook and husband Hib of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Leigha Wiggins and companion Josh Goodwin, Brittney Hough, Katlyn Soza and companion Michael, Brooke Hough, Stephen Wiggins and companion Ashley, Chad Wiggins, Brodie Hough, Scotty Hough, Matthew Hough, Gabriel Soza and Alexa Soza; great-grandchildren, Kyle Starkey, Chloe Starkey, Riley Wiggins, Reagin Wiggins, Lane Wiggins, Peyton Wiggins, Abby Soza and Mia McCall; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2322 N. 131⁄2 St. Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., assisted with local arrangements. Father Bernard LaMontagne will be officiating. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
