Richard E. Anderson, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Union Hospital, surrounded by his family. Richard was born July 11, 1935, in Illinois, to Harlan Anderson and Ethel Davis Anderson.
He was owner and founder of R.E. Anderson and Associates in Terre Haute, specializing in interior design. R.E. Anderson was the first to offer interior design in the Wabash Valley. He was a member of the Noon Optimists and was a three-time recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a longtime member of the Country Club of Terre Haute and was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald Anderson and Joseph Anderson; and one sister, Emilita Butts. He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Anderson of Washington, N.C.; one son, Richard E. Anderson II of Terre Haute; two brothers, John Anderson of Arkansas and Larry Anderson of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Sean Eric Nathan, Courtney Lynn Anderson and Mari-Elizabeth Deanna Nuckols; a great-grandchild, Mylee Erwin; and many nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev.
