Billie Ray Price

TERRE HAUTE — Billie Ray Price, 76, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Meadows Manor North in Terre Haute. He had been a machine operator at Jadcore in Terre Haute for 20 years. He and his wife Sandra also owned and managed rental properties. He was born March 28, 1937, in West Terre Haute, to Raymond Price and Ordith Wycoff Price.

His wife, Sandra LeClercq Price, whom he married on Jan. 23, 1971, in Terre Haute, preceded him in death on May 23, 2013. Survivors include their two sons, William Ray Price and his wife Soni and Anthony Isadore Price and his wife Jennifer, all of West Terre Haute; two brothers, Wayne Price Sr. of West Terre Haute and Richard Price of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Jordan David Daley, Bailee Christina Price, Makayla Marie Price, and Sophie Kaye Price; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Lamb and Harry “Mike” Lamb; four sisters, Vivian Davidson, Mary Fagg, Betty Benefiel, and Loretta Vester; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Terre Haute and West Terre Haute Volunteer Fire Department. In his younger years, he had been involved in stock car racing and later continued to enjoy going to races and supporting local racers at the local dirt tracks. He also enjoyed going to games and watching his granddaughters playing softball. He was a Dale Earnhardt fan and a Chicago Cubs fan.

Funeral services for Billie Ray will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Mark Fleschner officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and prior to services Monday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Valley Girls Softball League with envelopes available In the funeral home.
