Tom served in the Army Air Corps from April 1945 until December 1946 in the 38th Air Engineer Squadron, achieving the rank of sergeant and serving in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan in the post-war occupation. Tom and Charlotte were active in the church, delivered mobile- meals, played golf, traveled, ate fish on Friday nights, and thoroughly enjoyed their growing family. Tom is further survived by his nieces: Nancy (Ray) Miller, Karen Lindley, Lisa (Randy) Armstrong, Jan (Les) Buhr, Debbie Lindley, and nephews Phil (Linda) Lindley and Mark Lindley.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte, in December 2010, by his sister, Dorothy J. Kivett in December 2011, brother-in-law, Maurice Kivett, brother-in-law, Jerrold Lindley, nephew, Michael Lindley, and his former son-in-law, Michael Cyrus.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 233 West Avenue So., La Crosse.
