PARIS, IL —
Richard Dale Boatman, age 69 of Paris, passed away at 8:23 a.m. Saturday, Aug., 24, 2013, in his residence. He was a foreman for Wabash Fiber Box in Terre Haute, Ind., for 36 years. He also was in The United States Army Reserves from 1962 to 1970. Born July 22, 1944, in Clinton, Ind., he was the son of the late William Elijah and Rosemary (Denehie) Boatman. He married Barbara Jean (Robison) Boatman Sept. 2, 1967, in Calvary Baptist Church in Paris.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of Paris; children, Lisa Ann (John) Webb of Paris, Shelley Dale (Kevin) Winkler of Paris, Richard Douglas (Cassandra) Boatman of Paris, and Jaime Lynn (Tony Holt) Boatman of Paris; one sister, Ruth Ann Ward of West Terre Haute, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Chelsey Lynn Winkler, Macy Jayne Winkler, Ian Emerson Winkler, Montana Berlyn Boatman, Jackson Elijah Boatman, James Maxwell Boatman, Mason Anthony Boatman, and Chestan Abram Webb, all of Paris; and two stepgrandchildren, Xavier Holt and Justin Asbury, both of Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Larry and Carl Boatman.
Visitation for Mr. Boatman will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. CDT Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home, 303 E. Wood St., Paris. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 211 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3601.
