Sharon Kay Gladden, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the home of her special friend. She was born April 1, 1946, in Terre Haute, to James E. Williams and Virginia R. Smith Williams.
She was preceded in death by her former husband and special friend, Howard “Lou” Gladden; a son, Jimmy Gladden; two grandsons Connor Gladden and Brian Rickard; and a stepson, Keith Gladden. Survivors include her daughter, Stacey Jo Manley and her fiancé Tim Wrightsman; two grandchildren, Carter Manley and Ashlynn Manley; stepson, Mark Gladden and his wife Teresa; a stepdaughter-in-law, Evelyn Gladden (Keith’s wife); stepson, Barry Gladden and his wife Terri; stepson, Scott Gladden and his wife Angie; stepdaughter, Valerie Gladden; and stepson, Paul Gladden and his wife Jennifer; a sister, Mary Jo Crum and her husband Tom; a sister-in-law, Mary Humble; two very special friends, Sandy King and Mary Carey; and many beloved stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
She enjoyed being with her friends and family and especially her grandson, Carter, who was her shining star.
Funeral services for Sharon will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute. with the Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday. The family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to MDA or the American Cancer Society with envelopes available.
