Anne Elizabeth Hounchell Harvey

TERRE HAUTE — Anne Elizabeth Hounchell Harvey was born to Robert and Jacqueline Hounchell on January 2, 1960 in Louisville KY and passed away from complications of heart failure on March 1, 2014 at Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, California surrounded by her loving family. Her beautiful smile and radiant personality will be missed by all who knew her.

She was a 1978 graduate of State High School in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she spent her childhood, and a 1983 graduate of Indiana State University, where she was on the Dean’s List and was a member of Theta Alpha Phi, a National Honorary for Theatre Arts, and received a Bachelor of Arts before moving to Los Angeles. Anne’s parents were Music Educators in Indiana and they instilled in her a love of music and art. She began writing songs in high school and performed many times at Bill Monroe’s Bean Blossom Festival. She has an extensive catalogue of songs and was a performing singer-songwriter in the LA area, where she worked with some of the best musicians and was beloved among the musical community. Anne sang in the ‘Po No Mo’ trio with Brantley Kerns and the late Dick Fegy. She was also featured on the Town South of Bakers Field album and had some of her music featured in made for TV Movies. She was also an accomplished actress and artist with several impressive credentials and worked for a number of years as a teaching assistant for Burbank Unified School District.

Annie married Film Editor Marshall Harvey in 1985 and their daughter, Katharine was born in 1986. They enjoyed travel to Europe and to film location destinations as well as their passion for the arts.

Annie is survived by her loving husband and daughter, Marshall Harvey and Katharine Harvey, as well as her parents Robert and Jacqueline Hounchell of Dallas Texas, younger sister Jeanne Ellen Hounchell of Dallas Texas, older brother Robert Hounchell and his wife Janet of Firestone, Colorado, brother and sister in laws Martin and Betty Harvey of Sacramento, George and Milane Hauser of New Port Beach, Aunts Joan Paul, Donna Paul, Elaine Paul, Margaret Hounchell, and Uncle Andrew Paul, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many loving friends.

Annie was preceded in death by her Grand Parents Ivan and Bernice Paul, Alla May and Harry Hounchell, her in laws Milt and Mary Harvey along with her Four Uncles John, William and David Paul and Joseph Hounchell, as well as two cousins Joseph Paul and Kelly Paul.

A memorial is being planned for late April in Los Angeles. In Lieu of Flowers the family is requesting donations to the ASPCA and the American Heart Association in Anne’s name. In addition, a collection of her music will be produced on a CD by La La Land Records and will be available late April on I tunes and Amazon.;
