James C. Waters, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Kindred Health Care. He worked in TV production for many years. James was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Freeport, Ill., to the Rev. James Waters and Chloe (Lee) Waters.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan C. (Leenerts) Waters, whom he married Aug. 28, 1954; a son, David Waters and his wife Dana of Edgewood, N.M.; a daughter, Julie Krackenberger and her husband Michael of Calhoun, Ga.; four grandchildren, Barry Krackenberger and his wife Lynne of Calhoun, Chris Krackenberger and his wife Kim of Jasper, Ga., Heather Clark and her husband Jon of O’Fallon, Mo., and Amanda Goodale and her husband Brian of Johnstown, Colo.; and six great-grandchildren, Johnathan Krackenberger, Brayden Krackenberger, Danika Clark, Zoey Clark, Lillyann Goodale, and Johnathen Goodale. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, the Rev. Thomas Waters.
He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and he loved to play southern gospel music on his keyboard.
Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2014, in Ebenezer United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastor Don Ransford officiating. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the joint Sullivan, Shelburn, Hymera American Legion detachment. Pallbearers are Barry Krackenberger, Chris Krackenberger, Jon Clark, Jac Padgett, Michael Krackenberger, and David Scott. Honorary pallbearer Brian Goodale. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to either Ebenezer United Methodist Church or the charity of their choice.
