Esther Marie ‘Mickey’ (Sanders Thompson) Krick

MARSHALL, Ill. — Esther Marie “Mickey” (Sanders Thompson) Krick, age 86, of Oblong, formerly of Marshall, passed away into her Lord’s arms at 7:13 p.m. May 3, 2014, in the Ridgeview Care Center, in Oblong. She was born Nov. 16, 1927, to Fred and Lydia Anna (Sanders) McCarty. She married Clifford Thompson in January of 1946, and he preceded her in death in June of 1985. She later married Murl Krick on May 7, 1990. She was a farmer’s wife, worked at the shoe factory in Casey, and retired from TRW in Marshall.

She is survived by her husband, Murl Krick of Oblong; her daughter, Donna E. Alexander of Marshall; grandson, John C. Alexander of Marshall; granddaughters, Alisa Marie Thompson, Kellie Thompson, Erica (Jack) Sykut, and Emily Spurgeon; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry McCarty of Oliver; one sister, Rose Macey of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; one stepdaughter, Debbie (Steve) Trout; stepgrandchildren, David (Melody) Krick, Pam (Mike) Hoke, Terry (Jodi) Krick, Chris Trout, and Jim Knell; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one bother, Robert McCarty; three sisters, Alberta Bandy, Fredia Brewster, and Mary Spires; and one stepgrandson, Todd Krick.

She attended the Methodist and Baptist churches in Oblong, was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved flowers, gardening, and animals.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. CDT Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Pearce Funeral Home, with Brother Rusty Morecraft officiating. Burial will follow in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Wednesday. For those so desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Society. Online condolences may be expressed at:
