MARTINSVILLE, Ill. — Jerry M. Zellers, 73, of Martinsville, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Regional Hospital, in Terre Haute, Ind. He was born Feb. 18, 1940, in Indianapolis, the son of Verle Delno Zellers and Mary Letha Baird Zellers. On Oct. 23, 1962, he married Deborah Dee Ruffner, in Casey.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Debbie Zellers; son, Robert “Bob” Zellers and wife Angela of Casey; daughter, Barb Zellers of Martinsville; granddaughters, Jessica, Shelby, and Amilynn Zellers of Casey; sister, Betty (Sam) Wallace of Casey; along with his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jerry graduated from Martinsville High School in 1958. He was retired as a construction and maintenance foreman (The Gang) for the Eastern Division of Marathon Pipe Line. Jerry raised and enjoyed trail riding and farming with his horses. He had a passion for wagon driving using his own wagon, which he had made. Jerry enjoyed camping and playing cards. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed and attended all activities his granddaughters participated in.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. CDT Friday, May 24, 2013, at Martinsville Bible Church, 509 E. Ridgelawn Road, with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the church, Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
