Joseph George Corey, 75, of Mason, Ohio, and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, in Mason. He was born on Oct. 26, 1937, in Terre Haute, to the late George Joseph and Adla Corey. He grew up attending St. George Orthodox Church with his parents and attended World Gospel Church for over 40 years as an adult.
Joe graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1956. He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemistry from Indiana University. He then went on to receive a Ph.D. in pharmacy from Butler University. Joe was a pharmacist until he retired in 2008. He enjoyed providing care and advice to his many patrons who trusted him to fill prescriptions during his 40-year career.
Joe is survived by his sons, Timothy George Corey and his wife Niki of Casey, Ill., and Daniel Joseph Corey and his wife Lisa of Loveland, Ohio; sisters, Vicki Collins and her husband John and Georgetta Rosenquist and her husband Bob; three grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William Coker and the Rev. Larry Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
