JASONVILLE — David E. Kramer, 81, of Jasonville, passed away at 11:51 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Union Hospital, in Terre Haute. He was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Jasonville, to Albert F. Kramer and Violet M. (Ellis) Kramer.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Vivian L. (Wade) Kramer, whom he married Nov. 2, 1952; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya “Red” and Chris Lancaster of Linton; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Marilyn Kramer of Jasonville, and Brett and Rebecca Kramer of Linton; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Freddie Kramer of Lewis; sister-in-law, Betty Kramer of Linton; brother-in-law, Ray Wade of California; grandchildren, Kent Kramer, Chelsey Skinner, Kurt Kramer, Kyle Kramer and Blake Kramer; great-grandchildren, Kash Kramer, Kasen Kramer, Preslee Kramer, Paislee Kramer and Sophia Skinner; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Morris Kramer; and a brother-in-law, Donald Wade.
David started work at A.F. Kramer & Son Feed Store, then VC Fertilizer Plant. He then went into partnership in Howesville Farm Service until he retired in 1974. Then he started PK Agronomics as owner/operator. He was involved with agriculture-agronomy-fertilizer-farm chemicals and feed for more than 50 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home, 218 S. Meridian St., with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Thursday. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery, in Midland. The family has asked in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of David to the charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
