TERRE HAUTE —
Clara M. Pierce, 83, formerly of Terre Haute, and Clay City, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at her daughter's home in Reelsville. She was born in Paris, Ill., on May 1, 1929, to Jasper and Mable (Kline) Spaulding. She was a lifelong homemaker.
She was a 50-year member of the Twelve Points OES Chapter 528, a member of Nine Mile United Methodist Church at Linton, and also belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars 6606 Auxiliary in Clay City, and past District 7 president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Pierce, in 2004. Her survivors are one daughter, Paula Mikles and her husband Alfred of Reelsville; two sons Michael Pierce and his wife Jeanne of Florida, and John Pierce of Clay City. There are nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Brother Steve Wiley officiating. VFW Auxiliary memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Visitation hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with OES memorial at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be offered at:
