Doris Jean Bradbury

TERRE HAUTE — Doris Jean Bradbury, 82, of Terre Haute, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Terre Haute, to Lawrence E. Thomas and Bernadine E. Waldon Thomas. She was a 1948 graduate of Gerstmeyer Technical High School. Doris was a member of Barbour Avenue United Methodist Church, Christian Women’s Association, Methodist Women’s Club, and the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund. Doris was an excellent cook, especially baking and decorating cakes for friends and family. She enjoyed singing, whether it be in the choir or as a soloist. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Bradbury, whom she married Aug. 15, 1948; one son, Ed Bradbury and wife Kathy of Dennison, Ill.; two daughters, Sue Anderson and husband Rob, and Debbie Hartman and husband Ron “Dale,” all of Terre Haute; one brother, Jerry Thomas of Terre Haute; and one sister, Judy Lints and husband Leroy of Clay City; 10 grandchildren, Megan DeGroote and husband Culley, Emily Myles, Ashley Foster, Christina Anderson, Scott Anderson, Steve and Melissa Dowell, Kelly and David Scott, Sarah and Steve Tindal, R.J.
