TERRE HAUTE —
Gail Leon Kirkham Sr., 68, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Terre Haute, to Cecil and Faye Lake Kirkham. Gail was an honorably discharged member of the U.S. Army, and was employed as a truck driver for many years.
He was a member of the Farmersburg United Methodist Church, and also was a member of the Shelburn American Legion. He loved basketball, especially the Indiana Hoosiers, and was a big fan of watching tractor and horse pulls. He also was a family man, and especially loved his grandchildren.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maxine Bedwell and Shirley Leberman; and one brother, Merle Kirkham.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Bobby Kirkham; two sons, Gail Kirkham Jr. and wife Rhonda of Robinson, Ill., and Billy Kirkham and wife Angie of Cayuga; daughter, Joanna Quilliam and husband John of Farmersburg; brothers, Gerald Kirkham and wife Barbara, Donald Kirkham and wife Mary, and John Kirkham and wife Ann; sisters, Barbara Gallivan and Sharon Adams; grandchildren, Candice, Andrea, Matthew, Brittany, Christy, Brayden, Brionna, Linzi, and Gage; one great-grandchild, Alexander; and many other friends, family and loved ones.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., with Pastor Don Ransford officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
