Robert Bernard Beall, born in Mannington, W.Va,, to Gore H. and Louise (Carter) Beall, died at home on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Bob is a graduate of Triadelphia High School in Wheeling, W.Va., where he played basketball and football and ran track; he played basketball while in the military (Army), and attended Washington and Jefferson College and WVU. He was wed to Patricia Lou Knight on June 18, 1955, and was married for 47 years. He had a long career in sales and management; he started in sales in New York City in 1958, managed WTWO-TV station in Terre Haute, for most of his career, then managed TV stations in Savannah, Ga., and Wilmington, N.C., before retiring to Bloomington to be near his young grandsons.  

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patti; his father and mother; his brother-in-law, James Knight; and his mother-in-law, Effie Ferne (Bonar) Knight Folmar.

He is survived by son, R. Brian (Carol) Beall of Bloomington; daughter, Susan Lynn (Tom) Werner of Evans, Ga.; sister, Mimi (Gary) Gilbert of Macungie, Pa.; sister-in-law, JoAnn Knight of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and three grandsons, Ryan Beall and Stephen Beall, both of Bloomington, and Joshua Werner of Evans, Ga.; nieces, Sharon Gunther, Lynda (Ed) Pulpen; nephews, Jeff (Collyn) Gilbert and Greg (Stacey) Gilbert; and great-nieces and great-nephews EJ, Josh, Skye, Cade, Kaitlyn, Jackson, Sierra, Jimmy and Patrick.  

In his younger days Bob loved to golf, fish, and hunt; he was an avid reader and closely followed the stock market. He was well-known for his wit, and no conversation was without his wry and often acerbic comments.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Allen Funeral Home, in Bloomington. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at Kepner Funeral Home in Wheeling, W.Va., followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may make memorial contributions to Bob’s favorite charity, the Monroe County Library--Ellettsville Branch, 600 W. Temperance St., Ellettsville, IN  47429.
