TERRE HAUTE —
Thomas R. “Tommy” Reed, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Tom was employed by Wabash Fiber Box for more than 44 years as a truck driver.
He enjoyed riding his Gold Wing with his wife and was very involved with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Tom also was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to watch his children and grandchildren at various sporting events. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed being with his family, friends and his beloved dog Abbi. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; three children, Brenda (Doug) Scott of Brazil, Penni Reed of Indianapolis, and Tom (Beth) Reed Jr. of Terre Haute; two sisters, Martha Johnson of Arizona, and Nancy Pawley of Martinsville; one brother, Paul Gene Reed of Florida; four grandchildren, Justin Reed Scott, Whitney Nicole Scott, Shelby Lynae Reed, and Brayton Thomas Reed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Flora Reed; and three brothers, Albert, Robert, and Floyd.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., with a funeral ceremony at 5 p.m., on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Scroggins will be conducting the service.
