Elizabeth J. Hutchinson, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2013 in Union Hospital.
She was born Feb. 4, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio to Kenneth Norton Sr. and Nova Matheny Norton.
Elizabeth was a homemaker who raised seven wonderful children. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for friends and family, watching her favorite television shows, playing bingo and working puzzles.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Hutchinson; a daughter, Julia Bassa; one brother, Maynard Norton; one sister, Judy Norton; one grandson, David Hutchinson; and a daughter-in-law, Kimber Hutchinson.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Cecil, Jack and his wife Bobbie, Paul and Matthew, all of Terre Haute; two daughters, Karen Penick and Cindy Marshall and her husband Richard, all of Terre Haute. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Strain and Joyce Conway both of Cary, N.C.; one brother, Kenneth Norton Jr. of Terre Haute; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth is also survived by many friends, family and loved ones.
Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held at 1 p.m. today, May 11, 2013 in the Chapel of Memories in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute. Visitation was held on Friday May 10, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. Visitation will also be from 11:30 a.m. until service time today in the Chapel of Memories in Roselawn Memorial Park.
