Margaret Worth Cauldwell

BRAZIL — Margaret Worth Cauldwell, 81, of Brazil, passed away July 14, 2014, at  11:10 p.m., at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility. She had been at Cloverleaf a short time with her battle with cancer. Margie was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Topeka, Kans., the daughter of Worth West Stigler and Jane Margaret Davis Stigler.

She was a graduate of Brazil High School and a 1955 graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in Music Education and English. She earned a graduate degree at ISU in Music Education and English.

She taught in the public schools for several years and was an adjunct instructor in the Music Department at ISU from 1968-1972. She assisted her husband, Bill F. Cauldwell, in the operation of Cauldwell Notion Company, located in Marshall, Ill. She was employed as a secretary at Gasway Insurance Unltd.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and an elder. At one time, she served as organist of the church and she also sang in the church choir and the community choir as well.

She was a member of Tri Kappa Beta Unit, the Woman’s Reading Club and she was an avid bridge player. Margie also was a board member of the Well Child Clinic. Margie was very proud of her membership to the Daughters of the American Revolution.  

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Cauldwell, whom she married Jan. 27, 1974, and he died Nov. 14, 1977; an infant sister, Jody Stigler; and her beloved daughter, Janie Schuyler.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Sarah Davis Schuyler and Ryan Andrew Schuyler; and former son-in-law, James Schuyler of Arlington, Va.; other extended family and a host of friends.

According to her wishes, cremation will take place with ashes buried at a later date at Clearview Cemetery. A celebration of Margie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. July 27, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 N. Walnut St. Brazil. Visitation will follow at Fellowship Hall.
