TERRE HAUTE —
Betty Ann Halter, 85, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2013, at her residence. She was born to David “Buck” Lumsdon and Emma Lumsdon, on Nov. 26, 1927, in Terre Haute. Betty worked for Quaker Maid for 38 years.
She was a member of Higher Ground Christian Church. Betty was an avid church goer, loved to cook, make pottery and spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, David Halter; a sister, Norma Wooley, grandchildren, Josh Halter and Nikki Halter; a great-grandson, Colton Bruner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Daniel Halter, who passed away in 2001; and a sister, Ruth Commons.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Tuesday. Jenny Wilson will be officiating. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences can be made at:
