TERRE HAUTE —
Lois Evelyn Notter, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, in Springhill Village, in Terre Haute. She had been employed many years with both Quaker Maid and Columbia House, both in Terre Haute. She was born June 22, 1926, in Terre Haute, to Willard Thompson and Mary Lowe Thompson.
Survivors include her children, Peggy White, Larry Notter and wife Rona, Nancy Kay Notter, Robert G. Notter, and Tom Notter; 14 grandchildren, Cindy Byrer, Sondra Marshall (Brian), Tonya Miller (Pat), Dale Stewart, Mandi Sanders (Jim), Eric Stewart (Dorothy), Tami Roberts Alcorn, Heidi Blackburn, Angela List (Dan), Sherry Notter (Kim), Rob Notter Jr., Tommie Ray Notter, Stephanie Notter, and Jennifer Notter; 28 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barb Thompson of Avon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Notter; three grandchildren, Jimmy Howe, Charles “Chuck” Stewart, and Tammy Sue Notter; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Miller; two brothers, Bill Thompson and Ralph Thompson; and a sister, Annie Burgess.
Lois was a member of the Moose Lodge at Terre Haute, where she was the drummer for their marching band which performed in various parades. She also enjoyed working with crafts.
Funeral services for Lois will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, and prior to services Wednesday. The family kindly suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice with envelopes available in the funeral home.
