CLINTON — Paul J. Langenfeld, 79, of Clinton, died at 7:39 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Union Hospital-Clinton. He was born June 29, 1933, in Racine, Wis., to Theodore Langenfeld and Bertha Micnovicz. He retired from J.I. Case, where he worked in experimental engineering. He was a member of United Auto Works Local 689. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, and was stationed in Germany.
On June 1, 1957, he married Patricia Joan Sherman. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was skilled in mechanics, carpentry, excavating and landscaping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Theodore and James Langenfeld; two sisters, Delores Rousar and Jeannette Bambula; and a grandson, Cameron Langenfeld.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Suzzanne Lynn and husband Frank of Rosedale, and Samantha Durfee of Howard, Ohio; one son, Paul Langenfeld of Terre Haute; three granddaughters, Casey Phillips, Jessi Penn, and Matti Norman; three grandsons, Torre Lynn, Dallas Durfee, and Cole Langenfeld; one brother, John Langenfeld and wife Mary of Racine; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Giovanini Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Snyder officiating. Cremation was chosen. Visitation is 3 p.m. until services Saturday. Military honors will be conducted prior to the memorial service.
