TERRE HAUTE —
Donald W. Huey Sr., 64, of West Terre Haute, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, in his residence. He was born Jan. 30, 1949, in Terre Haute, to Paul B. Huey and Dorothy Bays Huey.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Gallmeier and husband Scott of New Goshen, and Marquita Lee and companion Doug Orndorff of Terre Haute; two sons, Donald W. Huey Jr. and wife Christy, and Josh Huey and companion Ginny Gibbs, all of Terre Haute; an adopted son, Ryan “Yogi” Soughers and wife Stacey of West Terre Haute; four sisters, Bonnie Harmon, Susie Neice (Jack), Paula Huey, and Katie Cox; 12 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Maddie Lee, Scott Gallmeier, Brittney Thomas, Amanda Matney, Kylie Caldwell, Tiffany Lee, Danyale Huey, Austin Cook, Lexus Osborn, Dylan Huey, Michael Huey, and Ollen Huey; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Matney, Prezley Lee, and Ryan Thomas; his best friend, Bobby Huffman; and two special aunts, Vera and Ruth.
He was preceded in death by his loving companion, Ellie Elledge; his parents; a brother, Ed Huey; and a brother-in-law, Tom McQueary.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and just staying busy.
A memorial service for Don will be 7 p.m. Monday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Parker officiating. Cremation has been scheduled. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until service time Monday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church Youth Group, with envelopes available in the funeral home.
