TERRE HAUTE —
Donald L. Duguid, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:52 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, in Royal Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute. He retired from Powell-Stephenson Lumber Company, in Terre Haute, after more than 30 years of service. He was born June 30, 1932, in Fort Wayne, to John R. Duguid and Dorothy Bender Duguid.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Highsmith Duguid, whom he married on June 14, 1952, in Breden Memorial United Methodist Church in Terre Haute; two daughters, Jacqueline Creasey and her husband Tim of West Terre Haute, and Donna Byrley of Terre Haute; a brother, John Paul Duguid of Germany; three grandchildren, Eric Throckmorton, Kevin Throckmorton and his wife Jessica, and Melonie Byrley and her companion Joseph Huskison; six great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Raymond Cox of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Maureen Likens and Barbara Effner.
He enjoyed golfing and going to the casino.
Memorial services for Donald will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Cremation has been scheduled. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time Tuesday. The family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
