Donald Ray McGranahan, 74, of Brazil, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born on Aug. 10, 1938, in Brazil, to Lawrence and Jean McGranahan. Don graduated from Brazil High School in 1958, before serving his country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong truck driver, and retired from Texaco, a 50-year Mason, and a founding member of the Dick Johnson Township Fire Department. Don enjoyed bowling and was proud to be the winner of the truck Roadeo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, James Roy McGranahan; and sister, Mary K. Vanatti.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou McGranahan of Brazil; son, Scott McGranahan of Brazil; daughters, Karen (Mark) Vitz of Center Point, Kristi (Steven) Summers of Staunton, and Susan (Marcus) Maurer of Brazil; sister, Shirley Witt of Brazil; and grandchildren, Raimey, Rylie, and Hallie Vitz Maison, Cassidy Summers
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., in Brazil, with burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at:
