Charles ‘Kevin’ Shannon

FARMERSBURG — Charles “Kevin” Shannon, 49, of Farmersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, after losing his year-and-a-half battle to cancer. Kevin was born on Aug. 1, 1964, the son of Charles E. and Phyllis I. (Tatlock) Shannon. Kevin was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Hymera Sons of The American Legion. Kevin was an avid nature lover and was a Native American culture enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Shannon (October 2007). Kevin is survived by his daughters and faithful companion Towzer, Chloe N. Shannon (boyfriend Shawn Walker) of Terre Haute, Gabi Hicks of Great Falls, Mont., and Amber Hunsucker of Terre Haute; his mother, Phyllis, of Farmersburg; his brother, Darren S. Shannon (wife Brandi); his granddaughter, Avery M. Walker; his nephews, Trevor and Gregory Shannon; and the mother of his children, Kelly Althouse of Terre Haute; as well as many friends and family.

A celebration of life will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Westlawn Cemetery Chapel (corner of East County Road 1100 North and U.S. 41 South, Farmersburg), with the Rev. Kenneth Coffman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Simple Cremations and Burials.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Southern Care Hospice.
