TERRE HAUTE —
Harold Ray Greenwood, 88, of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013, in his home. He was born May 4, 1925, in Jasonville, to Guy E. Greenwood and Madeline (Cowden) Greenwood-Wentz. He worked 20 years in construction for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 157 and retired after 20 years at Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary as the welding instructor. Harold was a graduate of Jasonville High School and longtime member of Lawton Street Christian Church in Jasonville.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Catherine (McClanahan) Greenwood; his daughters, Rita McCuen of Ankeny, Iowa and Sue Smith of Terre Haute. Also surviving is grandson, Travis McCuen and his wife Stephanie of Bondurant, Iowa; granddaughter, Stephanie (McCuen) Gustafson and husband Ryan of Ankeny; grandson, Brent Bones and his wife Melinda, and great-granddaughter, Karina of Pekin, Ill,; and granddaughter, Lori (Smith) Kij and her husband Mike; great-grandson, Dalton of Tucson, Ariz.; stepgrandson, Mike Smith and his wife Chris; stepgreat-grandsons, Grant and Evan of Seymour; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 14, 2013, at 12 noon in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Burial will be in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Messmer will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time. Online condolences can be made at:
