Wanda ‘Tink’ Irene Ahrens Boyd

TERRE HAUTE — The family of Wanda “Tink” Irene Ahrens Boyd celebrates her fabulous life of 89 years. She was born young and remained so for the remainder of her well-lived life. Born on May 25, 1924, in New Jersey, to William J Ahrens and Marie Anna Hepcher Ahrens, our Momma, Grandmama, Gigi, and Aunt Tinky left us too soon to join Our Heavenly Father and the sweet love of her life, Thomas, who was her beloved husband of 37 years.

She was active in everything possible and loved so many people; family all across the country and fabulous friends, also from her 27 years in Terre Haute, including the 10 years lived at Westminster.

Tink was an enthusiastic member of Centenary United Methodist Church, P.E.O., OLLI and prior involvement with Kiwanis, Swope Art Museum and Alliance, Country Club of Terre Haute, Historical Society, Arts Illiana, Tobies.

Loving family includes, “number one” son, Thomas M. Boyd and wife Cathy of Bolingbrook, Ill., granddaughters, Erin and Tracy; “number two” son, Scott Stewart Boyd and wife Alice of Cypress, Calif., grandchildren, Julie Hamilton and husband Josh, great-grandchildren, Merrick and Madeline and Scott Boyd; daughter, Robyn Saadeh and husband Saïd of Plano, Texas, grandchildren Thomas Saadeh and wife Kayla, great-grandchildren Grant, Michael, and Anne Hess and husband Audie. Preceded in death by her precious big sister, Marie Bednash.

Memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in Centenary Methodist Church with Pastor Jimmy Moore officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centenary Methodist Church, Wabash Valley Community or charity of choice. Until we meet again, Momma; we love you forevermore.
