TERRE HAUTE —
Margo Sluder, 61, or Terre Haute, went home to her heavenly Father on Feb. 2, 2014. She was born Oct. 18, 1952, in Loogootee, to Earnest and Ethel Taylor. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and Nana. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1970. On Sept. 5, 1972, she married Dennis Sluder Sr., and he survives.
She is also survived by three children, Angel Sluder Joy and husband Eric Joy, Dennis Sluder Jr. and wife Courtney Sluder, and Dustin Sluder and Odessa Lucas. Her grandchildren are Dakota Joy, Jensen Joy, Gage Joy, Chance Sluder, Cameron Sluder and Tianna Sluder; and one great-grandchild, Paisley Kelley. She also considered Heather Lynch as a daughter. She has one sister, Esther McDaniels of Nashville, Tenn.; and two brothers, Eugene Taylor of Washington, Ind., and Joe Taylor and his companion Cecilia Morton of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Taylor.
She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. She loved to travel to the beach. ‘Margo was my wife, best friend and so much more! Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever’.
Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Merrilynn Smith officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until services Thursday. Burial will follow in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at:
