Frank L. Vanzo, 88, of Clinton, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in his residence. He was born on May 3, 1926, in Hammond, to Virgle Vanzo and May Verhoni Vanzo. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked at Inland Steel and Standard Oil Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Virgle Vanzo Jr.; and a sister, Madalyn Hanson.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Stultz Vanzo of Clinton; and his grandchildren, Anthony Wilkey, Shane Nolan and Erin Wilkey, all of Clinton; a sister, Delores and Bill Hurtfeilt of Highland; and a sister-in-law, Florence Vanzo of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton. Service will be 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Online condolences can be made at:
