Robert John Kintz Sr.

Robert John “Bob” Kintz, Sr., 78, of Gadsden, Alabama, and formerly of Terre Haute passed away April 2, 2014. He had owned and operated the Tuxedo Inn of Gadsden for 45 years. Bob was born November 26, 1935 in Terre Haute to Charles J. Kintz, Jr. and Catherine Schultz Kintz.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Carole Kintz; children, Rita (Ted) Moncus, Kathy (Jay) Brown, Robert John “Bobby” Kintz, Jr. and Laura (Armin) Naismith; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Moncus, Michael Walker, Christina Brown, Lucas Brown and Andrew Naismith; his brother, Charles J. Kintz III of Terre Haute; great-grandchild, Jasper Moncus; and beloved cat, Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was a graduate of State High School in Terre Haute and was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Gadsden. He had attended 62 consecutive Indianapolis 500 Races and was an avid sports fan, especially of Notre Dame football. He loved and was loved by all. The family would like to offer special thanks to Bob’s doctors, Dr. Bryan McGwier and Dr. Dwight Harper, and our many close friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be Jason, Michael, Lucas, Andrew, Ted, Jay and Armin. Arrangements are under the direction of Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery of Glencoe, AL, Local assistance is provided by Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street:
