TERRE HAUTE — Margaret B. Wilson Hendrickson, 106, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was a teacher in both Vigo and Parke counties, retiring in 1968. Margaret was born May 12, 1907, in Glasgow, Scotland, to David Wilson and Ellen (Macauley) Wilson.

She is survived by daughters, Martha Parker and husband Ron, and Betty Akers, all of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Pauline Wilson; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hendrickson, who died in 1978; her parents; a son, David Hendrickson; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Helen Pulliam and husband Jim; and siblings, William Wilson, David Wilson, Alex Wilson, Ellen Wilson McCoskey, Elizabeth Wilson Lane, Mary Wilson Mathews, and Elizabeth Wilson.

She was a member of Maryland Community Church, where she was involved with the Missionary Group there, and The Senior Seekers. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily, and quilting, which she did until 2 years ago when it got too hard for her. She also was the oldest living graduate from Indiana State University from which she graduated in 1927. Margaret’s family said that she had a very active life, enjoying being involved and helping out, especially doing what she could for the “Old People.” She loved being with family and she is going be missed deeply.

Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m., in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, and 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11 a.m., with Pastors Vince McFarland, Rich Winson, and Shan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers if friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at:
