Maxine Olive Whallon, 76, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the Hickory Creek Nursing Home, in Lebanon. She was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Vigo County, to Ennis “Dutch” Whallon and Edie Moore Whallon.
Survivors include three brothers, Ennis “Jack” Whallon and wife Mary Ann, Bill Whallon and wife Carol, and Ronnie Whallon and wife Diana; a sister-in-law, Betty Whallon; a daughter, Lisa Ann Whallon; a sister, Geraldean Angleton and husband Laurel; an aunt, Mary Bockhold; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her twin brother, Robert Whallon.
She was a graduate of Concannon High School and had been employed with F.W. Means Laundry. She had been a foster mother for children for many years, and she loved many, many cats.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Kenny Alkire officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time today.
