Emma Lou ‘Connie’ Moore

PARIS, IL — Emma Lou “Connie” Moore, 86, of Paris, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Paris Healthcare Center. She retired in 1991, after 29 years as a custom sales coordinator at the former U.O. Colson Company of Paris and later worked after retirement as a clerk for Paris Township Supervisor. She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Georgetown, Ill., the daughter of the late Samuel N. and Louis (Perry) Conover. She married Joseph Allen Moore on May 27, 1972, in Paris. He preceded her in death March 29, 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Bill (Trish) Lucas of Rockford, Ill., Bob (Marsha) Lucas of Paris, and Tom (Barb) Lucas of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Nancy (David) Neal of Paris; four stepchildren, Tom Moore of Indianapolis, Ronnie and Darrell Moore of Paris, and Carol Clark of Vermilion, Ill.; a sister, Grace (Elvis) Ward of Paris; 10 grandchildren, Byron “Bud” Lucas, Kimberly (David) Sweitzer, Kristopher Lucas, Karina (Jeff) Ramsey, Abbey (Eric) Fausett, Andrea Boling, Jared Boling, Nathan (Kristen) Lucas, Sara (Michael) Burrows, and Justin Lucas; eight great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice Lucas; and her friend and former husband, Byron Lucas.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church of Paris, and a member of Paris Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 7. She served as an Election Judge for many years and also served on the Board of Directors of the former Industrial & Occupational Credit Union. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years, quilting, and traveling. She will be remembered as a loving, devoted, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. CDT Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Templeton Funeral Home, in Paris. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
