Jonathon John Perry McKinney, 20, of Brazil, went to higher ground blowing that Ol’ Diesel Smoke to be with God and his pap-pa Johnney on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 16, 1992, in Brazil, and attended Northview High School and Brazil Church of the Nazarene. Jonathon worked as a welder for Great Dane Trailers and enjoyed spending time with friends, working on trucks, riding four-wheelers, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, John McKinney; and Aunt Shari McKinney Overshiner. Survivors include his mother, Nadine “Neanee” McKinney of Brazil; brothers, Shawn (Jennifer) McKinney of Winchester, Ohio and Iziah Campbell of Greencastle; sisters, Sally (Monty) Allen of Brazil, Suzie (Brad) Hayes of Center Point, Dravin Pilkin of Brazil, and Shawnee Joab of Terre Haute; special aunts, Patricia McKinney of Brazil, and Sharon Kay (Kenny) Price of Marshall, Ill.; special family, Sheila, Mike, Chris, Billy, and Lana Skelton of Brazil, and Christeena and Matt Parksey, Holly Ridge of North Carolina; and several extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2103, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., in Brazil, with burial to follow at Black Cemetery in Terre Haute. The family will accept friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at:
