Larry J. Washburn Sr.

MARSHALL, Ill. — Larry J. Washburn Sr., 70, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Deaconess Hospital, in Evansville, Ind. He was born July 27, 1942, in Marshall, to H. Edward and Ruth (Sanders) Washburn. He was retired from Public Service Indiana, now Duke Energy, where he was a unit operator. He had lived in Gibson County since 1975, moving there from Marshall. He had attended the Marshall Baptist Church, in Marshall Ill. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Patoka, Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine and Sons of the American Legion.

He is survived by his children, Larry J. Washburn Jr., and Tony A. Washburn (Millie), all of Princeton, Ind., Rhonda L. Ort (Robbie) of Fort Branch; Jim Piekarski of Dallas, and Patrick Piekarski of Detroit: sister, Ruby Goodwin of Danville; 12 grandchildren, Jeffrey Sisson, Courtney and Hunter Washburn, Robbie, Andrea, Johnnie and Taylor Ort, Alissa, Zach, Lacey, Ryan and Haley Piekarski.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Emma Marie Washburn in 1985; and his second wife, Linda Washburn in 2009; brother, Eddie Washburn; and sisters, Phyllis McDaniel and Sally Ferris.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. CDT Saturday Oct. 20, 2012, at Pearce Funeral Home, in Marshall, Ill. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, at the Colvin Funeral Home, in Princeton, and from 12 p.m. until the service time Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home. Burial will be in Marshall Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hadi Shrine Hospital Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed on line at:
