TERRE HAUTE —
James “Jim” L. Decker, 54, of Terre Haute, passed away Oct. 21, 2013, in Union Hospital, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Clinton on July 2, 1959, to Charles Decker and Frances Graham Decker. He is preceded in death by his mother. Jim was a forklift operator for Ampecet in Terre Haute, and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, formerly working as an electrician in Florida. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lynneie Fish Decker, whom he married May 9, 1987; his father and stepmother, Charles and Judy Decker of Clinton; two sons, Charles “Charlie” Decker and Robert Shafer, both of Terre Haute; three daughters, Chelceie Barrientez and husband Adam of Portage, Taryn Smith and husband Shaun of Terre Haute, and Taylor Decker also of Terre Haute; two brothers, Terry Decker and wife Paula of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Charles “Chuck” Decker and wife Beth of Clinton; one sister-in-law and husband, Janna and Mark Reyher of Terre Haute; one grandson, Jamie Decker of Terre Haute; and nieces and nephews, Cameron Decker, Sally Decker, Terry Decker, Tammy Sanders, and Jennifer Acord and husband Eric.
Services will be 7 p.m. today at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until services. The Rev. M. Duane Sinn will be officiating.
