BRAZIL — Roy O. Carter, 92, of Brazil, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville. He was born on Aug. 9, 1921, in Vigo County. He was the son of E. F. Carter and Bertha Archer Carter. He graduated from Fontanet High School. Roy and his father worked together on their dairy farm. Roy also farmed with his brother, Ray, for many years.
Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was an excellent caregiver to his parents in their later years. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin brothers, Floyd and Lloyd Carter; his brother and sister-in-law, Ray A. and Ruth Sampson Carter; and his sister, Betty Jean Carter Stoms. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Russell Stoms, of Cloverleaf Healthcare; and one niece, Jean Ann Carter of Brazil.
At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation, with private graveside services. Burial will be at Bee Ridge Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Ford officiating.
