Martha J. Felling Palmer, 83, of Terre Haute died Wednesday evening, August 28, 2013 in Southwood Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 3, 1930 in Terre Haute to Clarence Felling and Irene Triplett Felling.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of nearly 64 years, Reverend James E. Palmer; two daughters, Brenda Palmer of Terre Haute and Marla J. Dillman of Nashville, TN; a son, Reverend James R. Palmer and his wife, Kathy, of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters-in-law, Betty Palmer and Dorothea Palmer both of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law, Robert Cutsinger of Sullivan, IN; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pamala Jane Palmer; a granddaughter, Amber Cole; a great-grandson, Jason Palmer; and two brothers, Robert L. Felling and Ralph W. Felling.
Martha grew up a farmer’s daughter and was a graduate of Glenn High School. Before her marriage to James she was raised in the Baptist Church and ever since has been a faithful minister’s wife serving with many Assembly of God Churches throughout the state of Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with three generations of the Palmer family officiating, Rev. James E. Palmer, Rev. James R. Palmer and Rev. Kevin R. Palmer. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
