Kelly Joan McBride Lackey

TERRE HAUTE — Kelly Joan McBride Lackey, 53, of Harrison, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord late Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at her home after an 18-month battle with cancer. She was born April 15, 1960, in Clinton, to William and Lila Crowder McBride.

Kelly was a graduate of Rosedale High School and Indiana State University in Terre Haute. She and her husband founded Atlas Roofing and Construction Company. She was an avid NASCAR racing fan. Kelly was a very giving person and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William McBride; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kendall McBride; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crowder.

Among those cherishing her memory are her husband, Dewey; her son, Kyle; her daughter, Stephanie; mother, Lila McBride; brothers, Scott (Catherine) McBride of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; German Guinand of Bogota, Columbia, South America; and sister, Blythe Pepelea of Clinton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

The family received friends Saturday, May 25, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. You may visit the online guestbook at

A celebration of her life is planned for today, May 26, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5479 Highway 58, with the Revs. Dr. Ronnie Mitchell and Todd McElyea officiating. Burial will follow in New McDonald Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN, 38148 (Tribute # 33621211).
