TERRE HAUTE —
Donald Junior Barr, 85, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Bloomington, Ind., and Hume, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his residence. Donald was born Nov. 5, 1927 in Stinesville, Ind., and was the son of Jesse and Ella (Martin) Barr.
Donald was a class of 1946 graduate at Stinesville High School. Donald had a long standing love of the community of Stinesville and still attended monthly gatherings with other graduates. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Wetterau/Super Valu. He was a member of Monroe Lodge 22 in Bloomington, Moose 1081, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and First United Church in Bloomington.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Virginia (Davis) Barr of Terre Haute; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Dr. Roland Kohr of Terre Haute, and Carol Jean and Joe Cabel of St. Charles, Ill. Also surviving are one sister, Carol Koontz of Bloomington; and five grandchildren, Roland Charles Kohr, Rebecca Kohr, Meredith Owen (Joe), Jacob Kohr, and Lillian Cabel.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Dorothy Smith, Ruby Weaver, Wilma Crowe, Alma Jean Smith, and Evelyn Fitzgerald; two brothers, Robert Barr and Elzie Barr; and two infant siblings.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington. The Rev. Linda Jo Peters will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens, where the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard will have military rites. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 1207 E. James Paul Bryant
James Paul Bryant, 50, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Norfolk, Va. He was born on Oct. 22, 1962. James was an Indianapolis Colts fan and a Phila-delphia Fly-ers hockey fan. He en-joyed fishing. James had an insatiable love for music. He served in the United States Army.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Bryant. He is survived by sons, Bobby Bryant and Michael Bryant; daughter, Sarah Stieglitz; brother, Andrew Bryant; sister, Jennifer Mason; nephew, Clayton Mason; stepchildren, Justin Stieglitz and his wife Monica, Matty Stieglitz and his fiancé Deja Langley; grandchildren, Joe Stieglitz, Quentin Wagoner, and Bella Fyfe; several aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and his forever friend, Anita Bryant.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. Family and friends are invited to come and share memories from 12 noon until service time on Saturday. Online condolences can be made at:
