John K. Will, 62, of Sullivan, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Indianapolis. He was born July 26, 1950. in Joliet, Ill., the son of John H. Will and Wanda Ivey. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 1968 to 1972, at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, sports and carpentry.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Purcell Will; father, John H. (Delores) Will of Sullivan; mother, Wanda Branaman of Centralia, Ill.; father-in-law, Paul Purcell of Sullivan; son, Bill (Crystal) Will of Sullivan; two stepsons, Brett Ridgway of Crawfordsville, and Curtis (Melissa) Ridgway of Carlisle; daughter, Heidi (Jeff) Kelm of Scott Air Force Base, Ill.; brother, Dale (Nancy) Will of Ohio; sister, Kay Pinkston of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Courtney, Dallas, Dalton, Kate, Paul and Owen; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Banks and Brust Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Cox officiating, with military rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legion posts and Sullivan County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
