George Anthony Moyer

George Anthony Moyer, 70, of Warsaw, Mo., and formerly of Terre Haute and Rosedale, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at his home in Warsaw. George was born July 8, 1942, in Detroit, where he worked at Ford Motor Company. He and his family moved to Indiana in 1972. He was a machinist in the manufacturing industry, and a jack of all trades, until a semi accident in 1993 caused his early (semi) retirement.

He was a humorous man who loved and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and his family (in that order). George could always be found tinkering and working on lengthy projects. He loved and adored his pet dog and 10-year companion, Peggy Sue, who was with him during his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence Moyer of Detroit. He is survived by his five daughters and one son, Debbie Moyer Virostko and her husband Steve Viroskto of Rosedale, Wendy Moyer of Kalamazoo, Mich., Denise Moyer Stone and her husband Bob Stone of Terre Haute, Dawn Moyer and Darcy Moyer Perin of Bloomington, Ind., and Thom Moyer and his wife Nicole of Terre Haute. George had 11 grandchildren, Robby, Nicole, Bobbie, Ali, Misty, Stormi, Keagan, Kelsey, Sam, Matthew, and Natalie; and six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Landon, Aubree, Annabelle, Owen, and Lorelei. He also is survived by his sister, MaryAnn Ketchum of China, Mich.

He had many friends including his close friend, fishing buddy, and chauffeur, Harold Gillham and his wife Judith and their family of Warsaw.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday April 2, 2013, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47804. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Earl McClelland will be officiating.
