Doris Elaine Cliver

HARMONY — Doris Elaine Cliver, 90, of Harmony, passed away peacefully at Cloverleaf Health Care on Oct. 31, 2013.

Doris was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Carbon, Ind., the daughter of John and Lola (Bridgewater) Testy. She attended the Carbon School through the eighth grade, and Van Buren High School. She married Orville Cliver on May 16, 1947; he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1998. Doris worked for Miller, Parrat Baking Company from 1941 to 1943. In 1943, she gained employment with Linkbelt Company until retiring in 1952 to raise her family. Doris was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Knightsville Chapter 238 and the Good Samaritans social club.

Her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved them with all her heart. She enjoyed getting out and going to all their birthdays. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking for her family and traveling with her husband in their retirement years. Doris will be remembered for the love she showed to her family and her neighbors, the many cards that she would send and her sugar crème pies.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Testy and Jack Testy; and two sisters, Mildred Henson and Maxine Orme.

Doris is survived by her son, Michael W. Cliver and wife Priscilla of Monrovia, Ind.; her daughter, Debra Emery and husband Charles of Brazil; grandchildren, Stephanie Nuckols and husband Steve of Brazil, Rebecca Sutherland and husband Matt of Centerpoint, and Lacy Conder and husband Brad of Brazil; great-grandchildren, Chase Nuckols, Camri Nuckols, Mallorie Sutherland, Bryson Sutherland and Jaxon Conder; and special friends Bill and Shirley Parr, Darrell and Bonnie Siples and Betty Gardner; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation for Doris will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4. Services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Bill Price officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. To light a candle in her memory visit:
