TERRE HAUTE —
Anita G. Halstead, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away Oct. 28, 2013. She was born in Terre Haute, on June 20, 1924, to Orlen L. and Edna F. (Martindale) Kautz. She was a retired bookkeeper and secretary. She was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, a 1942 graduate of Garfield High School, and was one of the “Shady Ladies” when she resided in Shady Oaks. Her husband, Charles Max Halstead, has preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Clark and husband Dennis of Terre Haute; a son, John M. Halstead and wife Marie of St. Louis; three grandchildren, John DeVeau and wife Tammy, Joshua DeVeau and wife April, and Christopher Halstead and wife Kristie; six great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Irma Jean Spencer; a grandson, David DeVeau; and one niece, Anna Faye Tabor.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., in the chapel at Highland Lawn Cemetery, on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, with Pastor Aaron Wheaton officiating.
